The Women’s Foundation of California was forged in the turbulent 70s by feminists fighting for racial, economic, and gender justice. Their original logo was a rose, at the time a delicate symbol of women, but four decades later this singular icon wasn’t nearly enough to represent everyone. To celebrate their 40th anniversary, the Foundation threw two fundraising galas: one at City Hall in San Francisco, and one at Vibiana in Los Angeles. Paying homage to the heritage of the rose, we grew the idea into a diverse, inclusive, and vibrant array of flowers pictured throughout both grand locations, signaling both their storied history and their investment in the right and power of the entire spectrum of women to change the world through philanthropy.
